Quality outdoor Shakespeare from the comfort of a covered, tiered stand at
Cleeve House in Seend, SN12 6PG, from 8th – 13th July.
Shakespeare Live’s 31st summer production is set in the murky world of Victorian London, with shocking violence and tender love scenes, full of energy, fast-moving, accurate, lyrical, and, above all, entertaining.
The star-crossed lovers (played by two talented local teenagers) and their two warring families are manipulated by a mysterious circus ringmaster personifying Fate. Specially-composed music played live, professional sound systems and lighting which takes over as the evening darkens, expert acting and imaginative direction, beautiful costumes and spectacular fight scenes all add to the Shakespeare Live experience.
The audience watch from the covered stand, with every seat having a good view of the action, so the show goes on regardless of the weather. Parking is easy and there is disabled access. Gardens open 90 minutes before each performance for picnics and there are bars, hot drinks, cakes and ice creams available.
Tickets cost £10 – £22.50 from www.shakespearelive.com
