Community Fund grants

At the September 2018 meeting of Worton Parish Council, Councillors agreed to make a further three Community Fund payments to village organisations. Details of the all beneficiaries and amounts since the start of the scheme can be found on the Community Fund section of this website.

One of the September grants was to Worton and Marston Village Hall from whom we received the following letter:

Dear Worton Parish Councillors

Worton and Marston Village Hall Trustees would like to thank you for the generous grant bestowed on us by you from the Community Fund.  It was one of our objectives this year to encourage further use of the Hall by Parishioners and this grant has allowed us to do this by offering the free use of the Hall for the following events:

Craft Day

Open Gardens x 2

Flower Show x 2

Jumble Sale (Church and Ladies Group)

Scarecrow Trail x 2

First World War Commemoration x 3

Quizzine

In choosing the events to support we looked for new events (Craft Day; First World War Commemorations); events where new committees were trying to resurrect events which have proven popular with villagers in the past (Flower Show; Quizzine); and events which bring in people from outside the villages (Open Gardens; Jumble Sale, Scarecrow Trail).

Yours Sincerely

Veronica Franklin – Chair of Worton and Marston Village Hall Trustees
